When presented with the idea of doing another remix album they felt a need to do something new and fresh, rather than calling up the usual remix suspects and getting dance floor club mixes 4hero have put together an album that would happily sit on the shelf of a 4hero fan. For this project they’ve sought out a range of forward thinking outfits, orchestra's & producers including some new discoveries to cover their music. 4hero played their part in the music supervision including some recording, mixing and co producing tracks on the album making the project that much more special to the 4hero fan base. The result is cinematic and dynamic in structure and styles. 4hero are well known for pioneering new electronic music genres including Jungle/D&B, Broken Beat and Nu Jazz. EP 3 X 3 is the final entry in a trio of very limited extended-players whose function was essentially (and quite welcomely) extending the life of their long-playing forerunner. This seven-track installment (two new pieces, five remixes/remakes) is the most ambient piece of the puzzle yet, proving that as things get hotter, FlyLo just affects a deeper chill.

Side A features 3 X 3's lone aggressor -- a menacing version of "Infinitum" courtesy of Swistzerland's Dimlite -- followed by matthewdavid's reinvention of "Comet Course" as a beatless field recording, and FlyLo's own "Endless White," a cosmic piece which couldn't be better named. Side B includes solid remixes from Take and Breakage, as well as another gravity-less original, but nothing compares to closer "Auntie's Harp," which finds daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra harpist Rebecca Raft recreating "Auntie's Lock" from scratch using organic acoustics. A Moment With Minnie Riperton

What began as just a simple love ballad between two lovers on an afternoon "Loving You" turned into the #1 hit single across the nation to set off Minnie Riperton's singing career in 1975.

Most famously noted for her high notes Minnie had a 5 and a half octave voice range and originally intended on being an opera singer. Her third album "Adventures In Paradise" which included the hit smash "Inside My Love" was refused by some radio stations for its lyrical content: "Will you come inside me?"



Minnie released 2 more albums "Stay In Love" in 1977 & "Minnie" in 1979 while being diagnosed with breast cancer.



Her latest release "Memory Lane" is arguably one of the greatest songs she has released. Minnie's final farewell to the world as she would lose her battle with cancer.

Classic Movie Release: Soul Power

Soul Power is a documentary by Jeffery Levy Hint, entirely composed of footage shot in 1974 at the legendary “Zaire ’74” music festival composed by musician Hugh Masekela and producer Stewart Levine. This music festival was combined with the epic fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman known as the "Rumble In The Jungle." It brought some of the most celebrated American R&B acts with the most renowned musical groups in Southern Africa for a 12-hour, three-night long concert held in Kinshasa, Zaire. It shows the experiences and performances of such musical luminaries as James Brown, BB King, Bill Withers, Celia Cruz, Miriam Makeba, among a host of others.
